Scenarios for language `node` specify the server language as `node`
(instead of leaving it blank), so a flag must be added to
`--allow_server_language=node`.
Scenarios for language `node_purejs` differ in name and in scenario
settings, but otherwise run on identical clients and servers. This
change treats `node_purejs` as `node` for the purpose of generating load
test configurations.
This PR implements a c-ares based DNS resolver for EventEngine with the
reference from the original
[grpc_ares_wrapper.h](../blob/master/src/core/ext/filters/client_channel/resolver/dns/c_ares/grpc_ares_wrapper.h).
The PosixEventEngine DNSResolver is implemented on top of that. Tests
which use the client channel resolver API
([resolver.h](../blob/master/src/core/lib/resolver/resolver.h#L54)) are
ported, namely the
[resolver_component_test.cc](../blob/master/test/cpp/naming/resolver_component_test.cc)
and the
[cancel_ares_query_test.cc](../blob/master/test/cpp/naming/cancel_ares_query_test.cc).
The WindowsEventEngine DNSResolver will use the same EventEngine's
grpc_ares_wrapper and will be worked on next.
The
[resolve_address_test.cc](https://github.com/grpc/grpc/blob/master/test/core/iomgr/resolve_address_test.cc)
which uses the iomgr
[DNSResolver](../blob/master/src/core/lib/iomgr/resolve_address.h#L44)
API has been ported to EventEngine's dns_test.cc. That leaves only 2
tests which use iomgr's API, notably the
[dns_resolver_cooldown_test.cc](../blob/master/test/core/client_channel/resolvers/dns_resolver_cooldown_test.cc)
and the
[goaway_server_test.cc](../blob/master/test/core/end2end/goaway_server_test.cc)
which probably need to be restructured to use EventEngine DNSResolver
(for one thing they override the original grpc_ares_wrapper's free
functions). I will try to tackle these in the next step.

We are seeing `g++: fatal error: Killed signal terminated program
cc1plus` on PHP distribtest builds. In case it's an OOM, let's try
reducing the build parallelism to see if it helps.

This (or something like it) is necessary for the automated protobuf
upgrade script, to ensure we don't commit a redundant third_party tree
to the repo. Here is an example of the protobuf upgrade without this

One alternative could be adding the filepaths to `.gitignore`.

This was done manually due to a problem with
`tools/distrib/python/make_grpcio_tools.py`. ~I fixed it in this PR
(depends on cl/547979185), so there is a fair chance this upgrade will
work normally for the next release.~ The fix may be problematic for
upgrading protobuf on older release branches, so the improvement will be
worked on separately. CC @jtattermusch
This also updates the UPB dep to the latest commit on the 23.x branch.
Makes the changes necessary to run the new PSM interop framework on
Ubuntu 22.04:
- Install dependencies via apt: `kubectl`,
`google-cloud-sdk-gke-gcloud-auth-plugin` (previously were
pre-provisioned or available as part of gcloud distribution)
- Use venv instead of pyenv
- Use python 3.10 instead of python3 .9
Other changes:
- Do not update gcloud components - the one provisioned is relatively
recent, and expected to be updated as new base images are released
- Unpin pip from `21.0.1`. Not sure if we're OK about using the latest
one `venv --upgrade-deps`, or if we should just pin it to something more
recent (currently it resolves to `pip 22.0.2` and `setuptools 68.0.0`)

As part of the dualstack backend designs, subchannels will be created
lazily. Therefore, instead of asserting that there is 1 READY subchannel
and `n - 1` IDLE subchannels, we just assert that there is 1 READY
subchannel.

In preparation for implementing the promise based version, separate out
the legacy call data from the filter.
There are two commits here, each representing one phase of this code
movement:
66676d398c moves `class RetryFilter` into
the header and the vtable name into that class, as this will be shared
code between the implementations
4c84f115ad then moves `class
RetryFilter::CallData` into `class RetryFilterLegacyCallData`, and moves
*that* into its own file
Doing so makes me less confused as to what I'm editing going forward.
No functionality should be affected.

In real services most of our time ends up in the `Read1()` function,
which populates one byte into the bit buffer.
Change this to read in as many as possible bytes at a time into that
buffer.
Additionally, generate all possible (to some depth) parser geometries,
and add a benchmark for them. Run that benchmark and select the best
geometry for decoding base64 strings (since this is the main use-case).
(gives about a 30% speed boost parsing base64 then huffman encoded
random binary strings)

Adds experimental fork support to gRPC/Ruby

This leverages existing `pthread_atfork` based C-core support for
forking that python/php use, but there's a bit extra involved mainly
because gRPC/Ruby has additional background threads.
New tests under `src/ruby/end2end` show example usage.

Caveats:
- Bidi streams are not yet supported (bidi streams spawn background
threads which are not yet fork safe)
- Servers not supported
- Only linux supported
tcp_posix_test is incorrectly assuming that all endpoint_writes with
timestamps enabled will be successfully traced. Remove the timestamps
checking related tests to prevent flakes when the test is enabled
internally.
