Pass them to ofilter_bind_ost() via OutputFilterOptions, as is done for
most other data it needs. OutputStream.[max_]frame_rate/force_fps are no
longer used outside of ffmpeg_mux*, and so can be made private.
This is a step toward decoupling encoders from muxers.
Have the muxer code read them out of the encoder context in
of_stream_init() instead.
OutputStream.par_in no longer needs to be public, so can be moved to
MuxStream.
This is a step towards decoupling encoders from muxers.
This has multiple advantages:
* The macro has multiple parameters that often have similar or identical
values, yet very different meanings (one is the name of the
OptionsContext member where the parsed options are stored, the other
the name of the variable into which the result is written); this
change makes each of these explicit.
* The macro returns on failure, which may cause leaks - this was the
reason for adding MATCH_PER_STREAM_OPT_CLEAN(), also ost_add()
currently leaks encoder_opts. The new function returns failure to its
caller, which decides how to deal with it. While that adds a lot of
error checks/forwards for now, those will be reduced in following
commits.
* new code is type- and const- correct
Invocations of MATCH_PER_STREAM_OPT() with other types will be converted
in following commits.
Share the code between encoding and decoding. Instead of checking every
stream's options dictionary (which is also used for other purposes),
track all used options in a dedicated dictionary.
The decision whether -apad actually does anything is made based on muxer
properties, and so more properly belongs there. Filtering code only
receives the result.
Use 8 packets/frames by default rather than 1, which seems to provide
better throughput.
Allow -thread_queue_size to set the muxer queue size manually again.
Change the main loop and every component (demuxers, decoders, filters,
encoders, muxers) to use the previously added transcode scheduler. Every
instance of every such component was already running in a separate
thread, but now they can actually run in parallel.
Changes the results of ffmpeg-fix_sub_duration_heartbeat - tested by
JEEB to be more correct and deterministic.
See the comment block at the top of fftools/ffmpeg_sched.h for more
details on what this scheduler is for.
This commit adds the scheduling code itself, along with minimal
integration with the rest of the program:
* allocating and freeing the scheduler
* passing it throughout the call stack in order to register the
individual components (demuxers/decoders/filtergraphs/encoders/muxers)
with the scheduler
The scheduler is not actually used as of this commit, so it should not
result in any change in behavior. That will change in future commits.
This function converts packet timestamps from the input stream timebase
to OutputStream.mux_timebase, which may or may not be equal to the
actual output AVStream timebase (and even when it is, this may not
always be the optimal choice due to bitstream filtering).
Just keep the timestamps in input stream timebase, they will be rescaled
as needed before bitstream filtering and/or sending the packet to the
muxer.
Move the av_rescale_delta() call for audio (needed to preserve accuracy
with coarse demuxer timebases) to write_packet.
Drop now-unused OutputStream.mux_timebase.
Currently of_output_packet() reuses the input packet, which requires its
callers to submit blank packets even on EOF, which makes the code more
complex.
That field was added to store timestamp conversion state for audio
decoding code. Later it started being used by streamcopy as well, but
that use is wrong because, for a given input stream, both decoding and
an arbitrary number of streamcopies may be performed simultaneously.
They would then all overwrite the same state variable.
Store this state in MuxStream instead.
This is the last use of InputStream in of_streamcopy(), so the ist
parameter can now be removed.
Analogous to -enc_stats*, but happens right before muxing. Useful
because bitstream filters and the sync queue can modify packets after
encoding and before muxing. Also has access to the muxing timebase.
This is now possible since OutputStream is a child of OutputFile and the
code allocating it can access MuxStream. Avoids the overhead and extra
complexity of allocating two objects instead of one.
Similar to what was previously done for OutputFile/Muxer.
Replace it with an array of streams in each OutputFile. This is a more
accurate reflection of the actual relationship between OutputStream and
OutputFile. This is easier to handle and will allow further
simplifications in future commits.
This is now possible since the code allocating OutputFile can see
sizeof(Muxer). Avoids the overhead and extra complexity of allocating
two objects instead of one.
Similar to what is done e.g. for AVStream/FFStream in lavf.
