Rationale: * Applications might want to know FFmpeg's version besides the individual libraries'. * Avoids file name clash between FFmpeg's ./version.h and lib*/version.h when a library source file includes both and is compiled on an out-of-tree build. Nicolas George	d5b58f678d	tools: add benchmark for crypto functions. The benchmark tests the speed of the following algorithms: MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512, RIPEMD-160, AES-128. It can optionally be built to perform the same benchmark on other crypto libraries, for comparison purposes. The supported libraries are: - crypto: OpenSSL's libcrypto; - gcrypt: GnuTLS's libgcrypt; - tomcrypt: LibTomCrypt To enable them, use this syntax: make VERSUS=crypto+gcrypt+tomcrypt tools/crypto_bench They do not need to have been enabled in configure.	11 years ago

Mans Rullgard	dfd9159f3d	build: change checkheaders to use regular build rules Many compilers need special flags to compile *.h files as regular source code, if they will do so at all. Rather than hoping all compilers will have such a flag and adding mappings for it, create wrapper .c files for test building single headers. This allows using the regular rule for compiling C files without the need for special flags, and it also provides proper dependency tracking for these objects. Nicolas George	b3be9f4a88	lavc: add a table of all codecs names. The table is automatically generated from the definition of enum CodecID in avcodec.h and contains the name of all known codecs, even those for which no encoder nor decoder exists or is enabled. The table is queried using the avcodec_get_name function. If CONFIG_SMALL is true, the table is not compiled in; the avcodec_get_name looks for names in the list of available decoders and encoders.	13 years ago
